First responders use assist devices to bring victims back to shore
in a training exercise. Recently Volusia County played
host to Jim Segerstrom, founder of the Swiftwater Rescue program in
California, and more than 20 first responders for a course that
instructs responders on techniques to adapt to strong tidal flows that
closely simulate floodwater rushing through a river or city streets.

flood rescue training held recently in Volusia County.
